FLAT FILE SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4 - DOUBLE FEATURE
At Flatbed Press, we house over 100 drawers—our “flat files”—filled with original prints by a wide range of artists. These prints represent an incredible variety of styles, techniques, and voices in contemporary printmaking.
Flat File Saturdays are special days when we highlight one artist from our collection. We open their drawer, carefully pull out their prints, and display them for visitors to explore. It’s a chance to see work up close, learn more about the artist’s process, and engage in meaningful conversations about printmaking.
This Saturday, October 4 is a double feature with the prints of David Everett (Flat file drawer 37) and Adrian Armstrong (Flat file drawer 92) All prints are available for purchase! We're open on Saturday from 12 noon until 5 pm.
David Everett is a Texas-based artist known for his intricate woodcut prints and sculptures which reflect his deep connection to the natural world. A longtime Flatbed collaborator, his prints often feature intricate line work and stylized forms of animals and landscapes, drawing from myth, memory, and personal symbolism to create visually compelling narratives.
Adrian Armstrong is a contemporary artist whose work examines Black identity and lived experience through portraiture and mixed media. He created a series of varied editions with Flatbed Press that highlight his experimental approach to printmaking. Each piece in the edition features unique hand-colored and collaged elements, allowing him to merge traditional print techniques with his signature mixed-media style and ensuring that no two prints are exactly alike.
