Katherine Brimberry, Co-founder/Director
Brimberry is Co-founder, Director, and Senior Master Printer of the Flatbed Center for Contemporary Printmaking. Brimberry's expertise as Senior Master Printer is in the collaboration phase of intaglio or relief projects. She has worked as a technical collaborator with artists such as James Surls, Julie Speed, Frank X. Tolbert 2, Trenton Doyle Hancock and Joan Winter, among many others. She is an experienced instructor of printmaking having taught printmaking at Texas State University, St. Edward’s University and Austin Community College.
Every other year, Brimberry directs and teaches a two-week workshop, Intensive Printmaking at La Romita School of Art in Terni, Italy. In her recent work, she combines printmaking techniques creating layered images picturing historic or futuristic aerial images of the landscape. She was honored to be an artist in residence with an exhibition in Nis, Serbia in March 2019.
Kate Balmos, Assistant Printer
Kate Balmos is a traditional printmaker and multimedia illustrator based in Austin, Texas. They are currently working at Flatbed Press as an Assistant Printer. Kate received a BFA in Design with a minor in Printmaking from Texas State University, as well as an Associates of Art from San Antonio College. Kate has also worked for the Texas State Printmaking department. Their work has been exhibited in galleries such as the TXST Galleries, B-Space Art House, The Price Center, and Flatbed Press Center for Contemporary Printmaking. Their work primarily explores their experience with identity and the relationship between a natural unnatural world.
Mike Brimberry, Archivist/Proprietor
Brimberry, a former high school English teacher and guidance counselor, has been with Flatbed Center for Contemporary Printmaking for the last 10 years serving as our Archivist and Proprietor. Brimberry has extensive knowledge of our print collection and loves to talk prints with anyone who walks in the door. He oversees our install and destall of each exhibition, expertly handling each fine art print.
Norma Bickmore, Gallery Associate
Norma Bickmore (she/her) currently works as a Gallery Associate at Flatbed Press and the Curatorial Assistant at The Art Galleries (TAG) at Austin Community College. Norma earned her B.A. in Art History from Texas State University and has worked at Mexic-Arte Museum in Austin, Texas. Her academic journey has been intertwined with the study of Latinx art, culminating in a thesis project focused on queer Chicana artist Alma Lopez and her re-interpretations of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
Before pursuing her bachelors, Norma took art history classes at ACC and interned at TAG, focusing on educational initiatives for the gallery. Since joining TAG, Norma has co-curated several art exhibitions including Reflection & Renewal: Chican(x)Futurism in Texas and American Roulette: Navigating Gun Culture and Our Violent Society. Through her curatorial practice, Norma explores multivocal contemporary narratives that foster dialogue and understanding through art.
Joshua Orsburn, Master Printer
Orsburn is a Tamarind trained Collaborative Lithographer who has collaborated and printed at Landfall Press with Jack Lemon and at Black Rock Editions with Steve Campbell from 2018 - 2024.
Orsburn received his BFA in studio art at the University of Texas in 2016. studying printmaking with Lee Chesney, Tom Drueker and Tim High.

Paige Perusquia, Printer
Paige Perusquia is from New Braunfels, Texas, and graduated with a BFA in Studio Art from the University of Texas at Austin, where she focused on photography, printmaking, and drawing and painting. She began at Flatbed as an intern in spring 2022 and has since progressed from assistant printer to her current position as a printer.
