FLAT FILE SATURDAY, OCTOBER 25: BEN MUÑOZ

Flat File Saturdays are special days when we highlight one artist from our collection. We open their drawer, carefully pull out their prints, and display them for visitors to explore. It’s a chance to see work up close, learn more about the artist’s process, and engage in meaningful conversations about printmaking. This weekend (October 25th) we are highlighting the wonderful printworks of Ben Muñoz.

Ben Muñoz is an award-winning artist based in Texas, whose work powerfully reflects his heritage, upbringing, and environment. His art is featured in both private and public collections across the United States, including the Mexic-Arte Museum and the National Museum of Mexican Art. Deeply rooted in the Texas art community, Muñoz is the co-founder and director of Familia Printshop—Dallas’s first and only community-based printmaking studio. Most recently, his work was acquired by the The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture. His work has been published by the Flatbed Center for Contemporary Printmaking and Coronado Print Studio, and has received critical attention in notable publications such as D Magazine, The Austin Chronicle, and Santa Fe Magazine.
