A Group Exhibition Featuring Work from Flatbed’s 2024 Italian Residency

Flatbed is proud to present The Italian Intensive, a group exhibition showcasing artwork created during or inspired by Flatbed’s 2024 Italian Intensive Group Residency at La Romita School of Art in Terni, Italy. The exhibition will run from August 2 through September 13, 2025, with a public opening reception on Saturday, August 2 from 4 to 6 PM.

For two weeks in September and October 2024, ten artists traveled to the Umbrian region of Italy to engage in immersive studio work and cultural exploration. Led by artists Suzi Davidoff and Katherine Brimberry, the residency centered around the theme Piano Per Favore! Slow Down Please – Mindful Drawing and Printmaking. The experience encouraged participants to reflect, observe, and create with intention.

The exhibition features works by:
Cynthia Beath, Scott Bennett, Katherine Brimberry, Susan Cohn, Suzi Davidoff, Becky Duvall Reese, Sheryl Kolasinski, Denny McCoy, Clare Metague, Sally Rohrbach, and Erica Stevenson.

Combining drawing and etching techniques developed during the residency, the pieces on view explore themes of stillness, attention, and the deep impact of place on creative practice.
